A Note From a Real Patient's Mother:
A few weeks ago my daughter had surgery for the gastric sleeve at My Doctor Hospital. Needless to say, as a mom, I was a little bit nervous about the surgery and the trip to Tijuana but my daughter needed my support so I said I'd go with her.
I need to let you know that it was one of the best experinces I've ever had with a hospital and its staff. Everyone from the nurses, to the doctors, the cleaning staff and the cooks on the 4th floor were kind and helpful. I particulary enjoyed Karin, Carla and Gabby. They were truly angels. My daughter got the best and instant care at My Doctor Hospital, In fact her doctor, Doctor Lopez, came and visited her at our hotel room. That does not happen in the U.S.
Now to "the boys" Abraham and Eduardo. Words can not describe how helpful they were. Eduardo came to the hospital to check on my daughter several times, made himself available for questions and went through her medications personally with her. Abraham just did everything for us. We could call him at any hour and he would make time for us. If we needed or wanted to go somewhere, he arranged his schedule so that he could take us. He made the trips over the border fun and interesting. He is a great asset to your organization and I still remember him in my prayers.
Thank you all again for a great experience. I would not hesitate to recommend My Doctor Hospital to anyone. And I loved Tijuana!!

Sandy, I wish to personally thank you for arranging for my sleeve surgery on March 15th. Everything went just as smooth as could be. I was treated with the utmost respect from ALL the staff. I arrived in San Diego with no worries. Ricardo was there when he said, actually early. He was such a nice gentleman. Arrival at the Hospital was also non stressful for me. The hospital staff treated me with such kindness. The nurses were excellent. Then upon meeting the doctor and the way he treated me was just fabulous. To have a cardiologist visit me, and perform the EKG was a pleasant surprise. I believe that recovery from surgery is mostly mental and with no worries, I recovered quickly. It wasn’t long and I was on my feet and walking, as a matter of fact, I started walking the same day as my surgery. I attribute this quick recovery due to not having to stress or be fearful of my surgery. I felt very comfortable and at ease with the staff. The hotel was wonderful. Even the hotel staff were well informed of what my needs were, right down to the waiter in the restaurant. I felt very safe in Tijuana. I have told everyone who asks that A Lighter Me is the way to go, and have nothing but good things to say. KUDOS to A Lighter Me for doing their best with my care. I didn't start to gain weight until after the birth of my only son, back in 1980 at the age of 22. I have since gained and lost a 100lbs twice. I changed jobs from waitress to nanny about 15 years ago and the weight has really been hard to control without the daily walking around, working hard in the restaurant business. At my highest I weighed 256. About 2 years ago my aunt and uncle had the VSG. I was very interested in their story. I knew this was the surgery for me!
